Our MasterBooks Experience (+ How We Keep It Honors Level)
When choosing a math curriculum for high school, I knew this was one area I wanted to be especially intentional with. Algebra 2 is such a pivotal course it sets the foundation for higher-level math, college readiness, and overall confidence. I didn’t want something that felt overwhelming or discouraging, but I also didn’t want to sacrifice rigor. That balance is what led us to MasterBooks Algebra 2.

What initially drew me in was how approachable it felt.
The lessons are structured, clear, and not overloaded. Instead of feeling like students are being rushed through concepts, it allows them to actually understand what they’re learning. That alone made a huge difference in confidence. It also feels very “open-and-go,” which, as a homeschool parent balancing multiple subjects and kids, is incredibly helpful. But what really stood out to me was the tone of the curriculum it doesn’t feel stressful or intimidating. It creates space for learning without pressure, which is something I deeply value in our homeschool.

The beauty of homeschooling is that I can adjust as needed. If something clicks quickly, we can move ahead. If something needs more time, we can slow down without the pressure of keeping pace with a classroom, that flexibility has been one of the biggest advantages.
