Strong Looks Good on Her 🤎 A little guide to eating more protein for the gym girlies

“Take care of your body. Give it good things. Let strength become part of your story.”

There’s something about becoming a gym girlie that makes you start looking at food a little differently.

Not as something to fear or something you have to earn but as fuel.

When I’m working out consistently, especially strength training, I want my meals to actually support the work I’m putting in. That means paying a little more attention to protein, choosing nourishing foods, and making sure I’m eating enough to feel energized throughout the day.

And no, that doesn’t mean eating plain chicken and broccoli for every meal. 😂

Think simple, balanced, satisfying, and actually enjoyable.

✨ A Few Gym-Girlie Tips:

01 — Start with protein.

Instead of trying to calculate everything perfectly, start with one simple question at mealtime:

“Where’s my protein?”

Eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, turkey, fish, steak, shrimp, beans, and lentils are all easy places to start.

02 — Make breakfast work harder for you.

A breakfast made mostly of carbs might leave you hungry again an hour later.

Try pairing your favorite breakfast foods with a protein source.

A few ideas:

  • Eggs + turkey sausage + avocado

  • Greek yogurt + berries + chia seeds

  • Cottage cheese + fruit + cinnamon

  • Protein smoothie + banana

  • Eggs + sourdough + avocado

03 — Don’t be afraid of carbs.

Carbs aren’t the enemy and if you’re working out, they’re an important source of energy.

Potatoes, oats, rice, fruit, beans, quinoa, and sourdough can all have a place on your plate.

The goal isn’t to remove food. It’s to build a balanced meal.

04 — Keep easy options nearby.

Because the days when you don’t have anything ready are usually the days you’re most tempted to grab whatever is easiest.

A few protein-friendly staples in the refrigerator can make all the difference.

05 — Eat the dessert.

Yes, really.

You can care about your nutrition and still enjoy homemade cookies, a piece of chocolate, ice cream, or your favorite dessert.

Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean perfect eating.

There’s room for both nourishing your body and enjoying your life.
